    I am in the process of rebuilding my Harrison L6 and I need to make some new clutch/brake plates. The material seems to be a copper, or bronze with alot of copper in it. What grade or type of material should I use? They are 4.25' OD X .188' thick.

    Sorry I dont know the answers you are looking for, but if you find the manuals in electronic format Id be mighty appreciative of a copy too if possible.
    I have a L5 and the clutch pack is bolted solid at the moment and the lever mechanism is missing altogether.
    Id like to reinstate it at some point in the future.

    Well I can tell you what I did to my Reed Prentice just 2 weeks ago. I ordered clutch facing material from McMaster-Carr. I bandsawed the pieces just a bit large. Belt sanded them to size. Then used a hole saw for the center, a little under finished dimension. Now used a spindle sander to get to correct ID. Why not use a mill and a lathe to do all that? Didn't cut worth a damn. It wanted to tear and rip chunks and just generally be a PITA.
    I built a jig to hold the od's of new facing and disk in alignment and epoxied them together. I used Devcon epoxy.
    It seems to be doing just fine. Good Luck....Wolf

    Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you I made my clutch disk out of 02 plate. Lots of work cutting teeth, end result was worth it. Had to build a toggle also. I'm back to making parts so I'm happy.....Wolf

    I have a photocopy of the harrison L6 manual . I don't have a scanner but would be happy to take a digital picture of each page and send as a Jpeg . there are 31 pages.

    I would be interested to see the clutch assembly on yours, I have an L6 manual and my clutch assembly does not look anything like the manual! I will be able to scan the manual probably within a week or so and get it in pdf format.

    I got a copy of the L5 clutch mechanism diagram, and my lathe is exactly like that, so it must be an early L6.

    I have a copy of the Harrison L5 and L5A 'Operator's Handbook' that I have converted to an Adobe Acrobat .pdf format (56 pages). It is a rather large file (737 Mb) since I left all the pages in raster format from the scanner at 300 dpi. The original copy of the manual is in 'new' condition so the scanned copy is very good. The drawings are very clear and the parts lists are complete.
